FestivalWhizz will provide you with a list of custom-matched film festivals every month. Just fill in a short form with all relevant details about you and your film. Add the countries in which your film has already screened, and you are ready to get your first matches! The festivals will be ranked according to their importance for your film, and they will be accompanied by information about the festivals and all details how to submit. You can keep track of all submissions and their acceptance status in your submissions dashboard.

Our database already contains more than 3,000 carefully selected festival competitions from all over the world, from A-list festivals to genre festivals.  We are constantly researching and reviewing festivals to add, and we only integrate festivals we regard worth submitting to! FestivalWhizz uses the same database as our premium service CUT-UP. The database is updated and extended on a weekly basis. We are not affiliated with any submission platforms, festivals, institutions or investors.

An algorithm uses all of the relevant information about you and your film to find you the best festivals. Factors that we sort by include: premiere status, award qualification, content related factors and tags, production countries, nationality and gender of the director, student productions, etc. The higher of a degree that a festival matches your film, the higher it will be ranked in your list. Put simply, a Canadian animation film by a female director will show a completely  different selection of festivals than a Swiss documentary film directed by a male student. Our algorithm also considers your previous screenings and the status of your current submissions and helps you to not jeopardize any country premieres.

FestivalWhizz provides you a list of festivals, specific for your film. All rules and regulations are checked and summarized to make it easy to compare and select your submission options. Our monthly list only contains festivals which are currently open for submission. You will find detailed information about the festival, how to submit (directly or or via a platform), and the associated costs. You can submit to whichever festivals that you wish, and discard festivals you don’t want to submit to.

FestivalWhizz is best suited for films that were completed within the last 12 months, have a runtime of up to 30 minutes, and have not been not released online (public link). Films which do not meet those criteria will still get a good selection of festivals, however, we can’t guarantee to deliver the promised amount of new festivals according to the subscription. Please contact us if your film doesn’t fulfill those criteria. Be aware that if you already submitted before joining FestivalWhizz there might be some festivals in the list you have already submitted to.

You can access all your submission records easily, regardless if you submitted through a platform or directly to the festival. If you get selected at a festival, it is important to update the status of the submission as this will directly influence the upcoming festival lists that we send you. FestivalWhizz will automatically change the status of a submission to REJECTED if the festival already passed and you did not edit the status to „selected“. The algorithm uses the status of your submissions to provide you an optimized festival list.
